The MMW Mainstays

Let’s start with the heavy-hitters that seem to headline this festival year after year. You know, the big room and electro house icons that pack clubs to the brim. These are the artists you simply have to catch if you want the full Miami Music Week experience.

David Guetta

Is it even Miami Music Week without the legendary David Guetta? The French DJ/producer is pretty much synonymous with Ultra Music Festival at this point given his insane 15+ performances over the years. He’ll no doubt be unleashing some fresh beats from his upcoming album and blasting out classics like “Titanium” that’ll have the whole crowd going wild. Prepare for pyrotechnics, massive light shows, and Guetta’s signature fist-pumping antics behind the decks.

Steve Aoki

Another Ultra and MMW mainstay is party-starter Steve Aoki, who never fails to douse the crowd in cake and champagne. Despite being in his 40s, Aoki still brings the energy and antics of a frat bro let loose. You’ll likely catch him stage diving into the crowd, surfing across the audience on his raft, and maybe even smashing a guitar or two. His sets are less about the music and more just pure, unbridled chaos and fun.

Afrojack

This Dutch DJ/producer has been a fixture at Ultra and Miami Music Week for over a decade now. You can always count on Afrojack to deliver a wild, in-your-face barrage of electro house bangers that’ll have you fist-pumping all night long. Watching this guy work the decks is truly a spectacle with his signature ‘air punching’ dance moves and keeping the energy at a constant roar all set. He’s a MMW must-see for the high-octane ravers.

The New Heavyweights

While the veterans above always bring the heat, there’s a new crop of EDM artists that are quickly becoming Miami Music Week royalty. These guys have only recently achieved ‘headliner’ status but are already huge draws for their insane stage shows and production.

Swedish House Mafia

This newly reformed Swedish trio took the world by storm after reuniting and releasing a Grammy-nominated album last year. Sebastian Ingrosso, Axwell, and Steve Angello have picked up right where they left off – crafting massive progressive house anthems meant to be experienced at main stage arena shows with maxed out sound systems and explosive visuals. Their performances in Miami this year are sure to be some of the hottest, can’t-miss tickets thanks to the buzz around their comeback.

Porter Robinson

28-year-old Porter Robinson is EDM’s latest crossover star, having exploded into mainstream popularity with his critically-acclaimed 2022 album ‘Nurture’. His unique, emotionally-charged blend of melodic dance music, electro-pop, and anime-inspired sounds have garnered him a rabid fanbase that sells out every venue he plays. Expect a surreal, mind-bending show with dazzling lights and visuals if you can snag a ticket to one of his sure-to-be epic performances in Miami.

Honorable Mentions
I’d be remiss if I didn’t give a shout out to some other highly-anticipated shows hitting the MMW circuit this year:

Kygo’s Tropical House Beach Party
For those in need of a more relaxed, beach-centric vibe, you’ll want to catch Norwegian DJ/producer Kygo’s signature ‘tropical house’ event. The sandy dancefloors, palm trees, and ocean breezes set the perfect backdrop for his breezy, summertime sound.

Zedd & DeadMau5 Back2Back Set
Two of dance music’s biggest names will share the stage for a special b2b set that’s sure to be one for the history books. Progressive house legend Deadmau5 and Russian-German EDM superstar Zedd are a dream team pairing that will have the decks on fire all night.

Gryffin Live For you ‘live’ electronic music purists, be sure to catch Gryffin’s full live show. The American DJ/producer/multi-instrumentalist brings his emotive dance-pop sound to life with a full band and stunning light show. It’s a much more ‘rock concert’ vibe compared to the typical DJ set.

The Underground

And of course, Miami Music Week isn’t just about the massive mainstage acts. Some of the most unique and forward-thinking artists come to play the underground parties and afterhours events each year. If you want to discover cutting-edge new sounds, here’s a couple acts to have on your radar:

Kyle Watson
This rising underground techno star from South African is renowned for his deeply hypnotic, psychedelic DJ sets and live shows. He’s at the forefront of the ‘neo-trance’ resurgence that’s taking over the underground scene.

LSDREAM
This mysterious producer out of Arizona is pioneering a whole new mind-melting style he dubs ‘Wakingvision.’ His profoundly weird, consciousness-expanding live shows are a full-on interdimensional experience that attracts intergalactic bass heads from around the cosmos.

No Matter What, Just Get Out There!

Look, at the end of the day, Miami Music Week is all about experiencing the music you love with like-minded people. Whether you’re catching the world’s biggest DJs or discovering new favorite underground acts, just get out there and immerse yourself in the vibrant club and festival culture. This is why people flock from all over the world to the 305 each year for MMW – to have their minds blown by the sights and sounds of electronic dance music. Study the party schedule, make a plan, and get ready to dance your face off!
